The essence of smiths book is “Alive” & “Haunting” in my opinion. Great work.

“The reality of our century is technology: the invention, construction and maintenance of machines. To be a user of machines is to be of the spirit of this century. Machines have replaced the transcendental spiritualism of past eras.”

Laszlo Moholy-Nagy

PDP Aspirations.

My chosen practitioners are all linked by my aspiration personally and professionally to strive for a gentle humility reflected in my work and life. This is the golden thread weaving its way through the descriptions of artists, artistic work and designs below.

Artists such as Ryan McGuiness, Andy Warhol and James Joyce all inspire me and I have a deep appreciation of their work. They represent a certain aspiration to be courageous in their approach to leave their mark through individual flair and genius.

Popshot is an illustrated literary magazine which publishes short stories, flash fiction, and poetry from all walks of life and influences. This magazine is a most powerful source of inspiration to me. I love the imagery and the poetry of all kinds of issues. The beautiful written poetry is thematic based on the companies take on what best describes a particular topic. From that theme an illustrator bases artistic designs and its incredible how two different creative artists synchronise unaware they have made such an iconic piece. I appreciate its art and well written beauty.

The origins of the unique paisley shape based in Asia. Persia (Iran), India and nearby Asian countries have become iconic for paisley designs. Interestingly a town called paisley in Glasgow raises the question again of the designs humble roots but wherever and however it has spread the shape, be it described as feathery, a misformed vegetable of leafy symbol is iconic of beauty and uniqueness in it humble design. Paisley patterns come in so different many forms. Small scrolling teardrops dotting garments or larger paisley shapes can be built up from numerous shapes. I am fascinated by this humble shape meandering through millions of designs across the five continents. From simple to luxurious extravagance the humble shape retains its gentle beauty.

A motion picture directed & animated by Eb Hu. Hu is not afraid to confront our fears, demons, and ugliest deeds; this motion picture creates a delicate but impact visual. Clean lines, emotive visuals, yet we focus on the visual images and story of what is going on. His work reminds us that all life is to be cherished, and, without abusing the nature of animals around us, reminds us that it is our own lives that are without value if we allow ourselves to forget this. To be honest watching this hurts me, around the world people think animals have no emotions they really need to come and think about that they are not no different to humans. We just tend to take over and abuse everything in the world which I don’t agree with.. This creation of animation speaks for itself and brings a cruel remembrance of what happens in the world.

Kris Tate creates collision of colour and greyscale, use of patterns and colour blocking with shapes of colour bring her work to life. I get a 80s vibe and I really like how everything is hand done by drawings of animals and people. Most of these illustrations from British graphic designer Kris Tate, has a set theme and a constant creative talent of ideas.

Rustie - Ultra Thizz Designs for this song, ideas I thought of and colours to go with the song. :))

Designs for M83, I really had visualised the colours and shapes in my head and created this through a drawing I did.. I felt the songs beat and felt like this would be a great way to design a song. I know its one idea but colour really does have its own effect.
