Nature & Me.

We had to design a booklet for the manchester museum, this is how I designed my booklet for them. I was picked to pitch which I was really excited about but was not picked but really did enjoy designing and having the opportunity to pitch.

Final work for the beer pump clips… Really like all 4 of these designs but only submitted two. I enjoyed how its fun and full of personality.

Some mock ups on ideas not my final ideas just trying different things. Really trying to do some interesting things with shapes and compression

James Joyce, a London based artist and designer inspires me. I would really love to tap into Mr Joyce’s brain as his ideas and the prints are creative. I would love the luxury of time to have a mini book and draw a lot of random sketches turning them into prints. Most of this work really triggers a spark in me which makes me giggle and look at the depth of the inside design story. The colour and the theories he creates have got a lot of design issues reflecting the world as it is now. Freedom of expression is how he can portray the ideas in his work by showing facts on how the world is turning and what is currently happening, I see an individual political view in his work and his dark feelings of “The world is doomed” This idea is reinforced by war and what is actually going on around the world today. I like how he purposely uses different influences on the past such as (Andy Warhol) while he brings a new element or an idea to his own aesthetic design. One of his pieces depicting a single tear drop shape in a flat black colour with the tiniest typography in a small area ‘we are doomed’ shows his simple approach to manifest a complex message of war. Using a tear as a powerful symbol in this case inspires me with his depth and meaning. His exhibition combines vibrant, brave colour with a gallery of black and white tones to create vivid imagery in a collective format drawing in the observer to learn and want to understand more. I am influenced by his technique and intrigued by the train of thought that leads to his creations quietly conveying big messages in the political arena using simplicity in a complex way.

Kris Tate creates collision of colour and greyscale, use of patterns and colour blocking with shapes of colour bring her work to life. I get a 80s vibe and I really like how everything is hand done by drawings of animals and people. Most of these illustrations from British graphic designer Kris Tate, has a set theme and a constant creative talent of ideas.

visualsundae:

Revenge is Sweet is a collaboration between Angelique Piliere (Lyon France) and Lee Owens (Melbourne Australia). The pair met while studying graphic design and began working together after moving to London in 2006.

Their work sits on the edge between typography, illustration and design, creating mixed media, custom typefaces and illustration to produce bold, striking imagery.

Some other printing making and image making I did at college. Really like some of these. I really should use some of these elements. :))

Some work from my Final Major Project, I experimented and played around with visuals and texture. I gave all my work love and my self expression. My final project was based on personal work and developing “Illustrative Poetry” I feel from this road I have developed many ways of what I could had done & changed. I know this work is the start of my journey to find who I am as an artist/ graphic designer.
