Be YOU. With the ideas at hand, I created a non finished booklet with my ideas, I thought about shapes + ways that i can use the imagery + interviews.

I used different concepts to portray these but one idea.

how is a average person effected by a street corner?

Talking corners. How a corner effects you?

I started to photograph & interview people on a corner of a street + these are the images I came out with.

I was focusing on textures I saw and manipulating the photographs the way I thought looked best.

I had a lot of fun with this + was inspiring to meet these people and gaining  a new experience.

Flash.Grafik magazine, Akatre, Photography by Martin Klimas. May 2008.

I feel the artists Lucy and Bart have created a surreal mutilation theme based around the deformity on human beings, experimenting on human figures by creating objects such as spikes and bubbles and all kinds of weird and unusual creative things. these images create a lucid acceptance by the people in the photographs and create an aura of “just being present and the work being apart of them”. these images are magnetising to the eye and create unusual stories within physical evolution that meets mutation.

TwoToned

Some personal work. A rendition of my first display typeface creation, titled TwoToned due to the two colours entwining each other. it was originally all one colour, but i started to experiment further, and thought  the combination of the two colours looked quite cool so proceeded with it.

He’s quite splendid :) as you can see

subliminal messages, I love captions I believe every picture has its theory <3

The simplistic ideas and words used in this set really excite me and inspire me even further.

Other Double page spreads I designed, I really enjoyed all the experimenting and creating. Staying true to my style of work :)

Based on a theme “energy” + “Power” to reflect the Olympics, I created these pieces by combining photography in my work. I am really proud of my work and the over all achievements.

The Beuaty Of The Deformed.

I took a photograph and played around with the photograph in Photoshop, I also added an other photograph so I could get the textures I wanted. I actually really liked the photograph I took in Poland, I would really like to redraw the original and then Photoshop it again. I think changing and playing around with different images is fun and I enjoying creating work like this. I have made a whole set to showcase the different colours and textures I could create and make my own.

Here are some experimented designs, Some I love some I dislike. It really shows an idea of how I started off and the experiments I was playing around with. I would say it was fun to do these pieces. But I really think it helped me realise what I really wanted to achieve. I actually like the imperfections sometimes, I am not afraid to broadcast them because I want to show growth and knowledge in what I am doing.

These are some other Ideas of my Olympics Cover designs, I really wanted to play with texture yet prove that the image can look attractive and not to over designed. I really am happy with these designs, I really feel there is an element of me in everything I have produced. Some can be a bit too chaotic but I think I found a way to catch a viewers eye. I really was enthusiastic and excited to be doing this work and I really wanted to show that in my work. The most toughest part of this was type, I really found it hard how to place type and where type should go. I felt like everything I knew about type had just gone out the window. I wish I played more with type and not had been scared to use typography. I just thought if I put in some type elements the cover would look over designed.

My Olympics Front covers based on one idea but different colours, I stayed true to textures which I love to put in my work, i really do like the design and I feel it does stand out. I think these as a collection really look great together and it shows the different changes I have made. Based on these designs I really wanted to create energy and power. I really think my idea has come across just how I wanted it to be. I am proud to say this is my work.
